Massaman Curry is an old Thai cuisine dish. It is very delicious and has a mild coconut flavor. It is also slightly spicy in taste. To your surprise the main flavors of Massaman curry comes from the special Indian spices. It is a quick recipe and you will love making it. It is enriched with fragrance and signature hint of peanut smokiness which will give an ultimate joy to your taste buds. It is the most famous Thai curry in Thai cuisine. Our famous Thai Red Curry blend which is also used in many Indian curries will give this recipe another level of taste.

Serves 4-5 persons
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
2 tbsp Massaman curry paste
1tsp Spice Squad Thai Red Curry
1 lb. lean beef or lamb strips
1cup canned coconut milk
2 tbs crunchy peanut butter
½ cup beef or lamb stock
1tsp fish sauce
1 lb. small potatoes, peeled and cut in halves
¼ cup roasted peanuts
½ cup chopped cilantro
3tsp. Spice Squad Thai Red Curry Blend
1tsp black pepper
1.Take a large deep pan, preferably non-stick and add sliced or chopped onion in it and fry until color changes to very light brown. Add the curry paste and Spice Squad Thai Red Curry powder and cook for another two minutes.
2.Add the beef or lamb strips in the curry paste and cover it for at least 3 minutes and cook.
3.Add coconut milk and bring to a boil. Mix in stock, fish sauce and peanut butter.
4.Add unpeeled washed potatoes (cut potato into halves or quarters) in the mixture. Cover and cook on a low to medium heat. Let it simmer until potatoes are cooked and beef/lamb strips are soft and tender.
5.Add more Thai Red Curry Powder if desired. Season with salt and peppe according to your taste and mix it well. The curry is ready to EAT!
The Massaman curry can be garnished with roasted peanuts and freshly coriander leaves. You can also sprinkle our amazing Thai red curry powder on the Massaman Curry!
You can serve it with hot tortilla or garlic boiled rice.
